The Fashion Capitals of the World
Friday, 23 March 2012, 07:00pm - 09:30pm

fashioncapitals-spanishaustraliaThe Fashion capitals of the World (FCW) is an event that it is part of the L'Óreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Cultural Program.

FCW is a cultural collaboration between new and emerging students and recent graduates designers from important European leaders in design education: Barcelona, London, Milan and Paris along with the premier students from the Australian Academy of Design.

Barcelona's presence will be represented by BAU, Escola Superior de Disseny.

Each of the participating institutions have been invited to submit six designs, ranging from day wear to avant-garde creations which characterise the 'look' of their fashion city.

Each look will be informed by the designer's unique interpretation of "my city".

The exhibition will both showcase and celebrate the cultural differences, trends and drivers of new generation fashion, brought together by the underlying principles of what makes good design.

Event organised by the Australian Academy of Design with the collaboration of the Consulate General of Spain in Melbourne amongst others.
